Who this book for?
This book is for everyone but because it covers different topics, I would say it will be more beneficial to the beginners and people with intermediate level skills. Anyone using SharePoint would find something of value in this book. The book is structured in a way that all chapters are unrelated to each other. You can pick up the book, open the chapter you are interested in getting help from and start reading it. As I mentioned earlier, the book is a collection of articles that focus on particular areas of the product. This is particularly useful for the users who are just starting on learning the product because you don’t have to go through the whole book to understand the topic discussed in the last chapter. My experience tells me that users (readers) are interested in step-by-step walk-throughs. They want to get to the core of the functionality that they are interested in without diving deep into it. MSDN and Technet have extensive documentation on SharePoint but still people prefer reading blogs because each blog gives them a quick solution to their problem and that’s the main reason why blogs are so popular. So, this book is a cook book and contains recipes that users will find delicious and useful.
